It's been a while

I welcome myself back to this blog, a mere 18 days since my last entry.  The most influential thing this year has been my 60+ Soyster card, sometimes too much so. I am tempted to use it, and so, when I should be walking more and building up the steps, I used the card. I will hopefully ween myself off this after the novelty of it wears off.  It's amazing after nearly ten years in work they have never acknowledged my birthday and they want to use the term "family", *welcome to the family", "you are now part of the family". Well if that's how you treat members then I will take myself out of that terminology. I have been reading a lot in the news (which is totally unbiased, 100% factual and in no way written readership bait) about lack of staff in shops, cafes, venues etc. The same old crock of shit is thrown about as cost of living, tax increases too many bills. Although this may attribute to some of the issues I feel there is more at work here, unlike the...

2.466% of 2025

It's 2.466% into 2025 and I have refrained from partaking in the amber nectar. My 60+ Soyster is a gem, I have been using it for the most mundane of trips and even trips I need not have taken. However I must remember I am a bipod and must use my legs to exercise and try and keep in a relatively healthy state  So many people fall into the trap of getting the most out of something, especially if purchased. People go to buffets and scoff themselves silly because they want to make the most of their £9.96 eat as much as you damn well want. They will proudly tell you how to eat to maximum capacity with the types of food you should pile your plate (trough)with.  Travel card holders, both free and paid for will jump on a bus to go one stop and gloat they are making the most out of it. No one says I walked more than 10 miles today to make the most of the free travel or they took 4 pee breaks and 2 poo breaks in a free toilet.  It is important to stay active in my older years. So t...

Changes

I have titled this post as "Changes" based on my recent prescription. Normally, pre 60 I would order my prescription on line and it will miraculously appear in my local chemist 48 hours later. A whole month's worth of blood pressure medication. When I picked up my last medication, on my birthday, I was given 3 month's worth of blood pressure medication. Now that I do not have to pay all of a sudden they are throwing it at me like confetti. So the change is for them, when a person is paying you get the minimal but as soon as you don't have to pay they give you a longer supply. Now it is this type of shit that raises my blood pressure.  A good thing about blogging is I can update throughout the day with snippets of information and publish later in in the day. That is what I am doing now. So I am on the train to go to the Imperial War Museum as I continue my quest to do less Doomscrolling and more positive things. I am still waiting for the arrival of my 60+ Oyster w...

2025 has arrived

It is the 2nd of January and I am now in my 61st year on this planet called Earth, let's give that a bit of perspective to show how important this is: 8 planets in the solar system (maybe 9) 400 billion planets in the Milky Way 21.6 trillion planets in the Local Group 2 quadrillion planets in the Virgo Supercluster 21.6 sextillion (21,600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) planets in the observable universe (Taken from skiesandscopes.com) My celebrations on the 29th were special for me as I was around people I love, cherish and who have had a tremendous impact on where I am now and who I am. It was great to do colouring in (A great therapy for my anxiety, depression and stress) with the younger folk. Then catching up with those that I have not seen a while including my God children. The following day I had cocktails with two excellent colleagues and shared memories and chuckles. The 31st was less of an occasion and nothing to write home about. I had the last couple of beers with a fri...
