2.466% of 2025
It's 2.466% into 2025 and I have refrained from partaking in the amber nectar. My 60+ Soyster is a gem, I have been using it for the most mundane of trips and even trips I need not have taken. However I must remember I am a bipod and must use my legs to exercise and try and keep in a relatively healthy state
So many people fall into the trap of getting the most out of something, especially if purchased. People go to buffets and scoff themselves silly because they want to make the most of their £9.96 eat as much as you damn well want. They will proudly tell you how to eat to maximum capacity with the types of food you should pile your plate (trough)with.
Travel card holders, both free and paid for will jump on a bus to go one stop and gloat they are making the most out of it. No one says I walked more than 10 miles today to make the most of the free travel or they took 4 pee breaks and 2 poo breaks in a free toilet.
It is important to stay active in my older years. So the card must only be used for longer excursions and not short bus trips to pick up a tin of baked beans or a scratch card in the hope of scratching off 1 trillion, gazillion pounds.
A few things have not gone to plan but I am hopeful they will soon come to fruition. Life still continues in its mundane, life sucking way. No one really gives a damn about anyone being 60 unless you go on to Britain's Got Talent and they applaud you for reaching such an age. If you also add a back story full of sorrow, hardship and horrendous experiences you will instantly get the golden buzzer.
It's quite easy to just waste the hours of each day watching a screen, replying to texts and messages (apparently a crime if you don't), drinking wine, doomscrolling other people's lives, sleeping endlessly in a depressive stuper or doing jack diddly squat. But time is of the essence and to waste what's left would be criminal. So it's "once more unto the breach, dear friends" and muster all that inner desire to make things happen.
