A Rich Vein

When things are shifting your way a tad and the things you want to change are, then it is important to keep going. Consistency is key to all things in life and getting to one's target point requires that continuous effort. Far too often the cogs stop and the motivation disintegrates in a pool of self hatred and a sense of failure.

Of course there will be dips, troughs and slumps but you have to negotiate these and toss them aside.Getting back on that path in that rich vein of consistency is key to reaching one's long term goals. And when that point arrives it's even more important to stay with the consistency to stop, what seems like an automated response, reverting back to old ways and negative behaviours.

My body is a lot slower now I am in my 60's, along with my brain and enthusiasm for life. Only by getting back into the things that drove my passions, in my more productive days, can I hope to keep a longevity with my well-being. Aspects of my health are improving and allowing me to at least feel that I am capable of doing so much more. For me, it is the removal of bad habits and negative behaviours that I need to eradicate from my day-to-day existence. But removing them is not enough.

It is important to replace the negative behaviours with positive ones that can keep me in this period of flow. A bit of weight loss, clothes feeling a bit baggy, walking is slightly easier, are all significant outcomes that need to be encouraged more. Keeping my mind healthy and being consistent on a daily basis will allow me to achieve my goals.

I do need help as I faulter too easy as been demonstrated way too often in the past, after great initial results. I must do all that I can to get where I need to be. Bad habits, being unfit, eating shit and being in training for olympic standard couch potato will only increase my risks of disease, disability and even death.

Things are moving in the right direction at the moment and I must throw everything at it to continue on this path.
